Welcome To My First Person Shooter Reality

Hey,

I bet you're wondering why you're looking at this fairly empty blog and what it's about. So here's the deal: it's about everything...and nothing. It's about how I wake up in the morning and feel like I'm going through life in an FPS (which means first person shooter, incase you didn't already know). Maybe it's because I play too many games, or maybe it's because my reality has become so mundane I wish I actually WAS in a video game. Either way, this school enforced blog is going to hit some pretty intense reality checks. Fair warning, it's going to get real.

Let's all take a moment to imagine the last time you were chilling on the couch, playing your favourite First Person Shooter and thought to yourself, "man, I wish I could do this for a living", well thats me, everyday. Well, maybe not everyday, but every time I play for sure. Between the camaraderie, loud noises, and gratuitous  violence, I thrive in this scenario. So why not real life? Why not live in a FPS world? well I will tell you audience. It's a terrible idea, that's why!

Think about it! My heart pounds a mile a minute every time that countdown begins before the next team death match. Frantically deciding which weapon would be best to deal death to the sinners on the other side of the map. Could my heart take that in real life? 24/7? Hell no, and I bet yours couldn't either. Gamers as a whole run on pop tarts and energy drinks, and our hearts are one beat away from that great white bean bag chair in the sky. It's the pressure, plain and simple. I'm already a paranoid, frantic and obsessive, the last thing I need is to be justified in these actions. I can't even play First Person Shooters laying down. I need to sit up and concentrate. It's ridiculous I know, but thats how it is. I couldn't take it, and neither could you.

Regardless, this concludes the first post of this continuous mandated series. More to come on the topic, so keep watch. and please, try to keep your head out there, First Person Shooter is a team sport.
